MEET THE TEACHER
Hello! I am a sixth grade teacher from Kansas. The subjects I currently teach include language arts, writing, and technology. I have been blessed with some amazing mentors throughout my education that significantly impacted my love for learning and attitude toward life, so I want to be that kind of positive influence for future generations. In my classroom, I want to create an uplifting environment full of encouragement and support amongst peers. I want to teach children about how actions speak louder than words, but that words still have power and must be used responsibly. I want to teach them about how important it is to speak up for what you believe in and to start a conversation that matters. I absolutely love teaching and created this website to share their brilliance with the world!
I am the oldest of four siblings and am from Andover, Kansas. Family is one of my top priorities and my mom is definitely my biggest role model, her dedication and compassion is truly inspiring. Whether we are climbing waterfalls in Jamaica or having movie marathons on our sofa, I love any chance I have to spend time with my younger siblings. I graduated from Andover High School in May 2015. In high school I loved being on Trojanettes dance team, getting involved in all kinds of clubs, and experiencing the homey feel of a connected community!
In May 2019, I graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Leadership Studies. I loved volunteering in the Manhattan community with organizations like Head Start and the Crisis Center. I also served in several leadership roles as an Ambassador for the College of Education and as VP of Intellectual Development, Mystagogue Chair, and Chaplain for Alpha Chi Omega.
I love sunshine and spending time outdoors, taking yoga and zumba classes at the rec, singing obnoxiously loud during road trips, and cheering on the Chiefs! I really, really enjoy traveling but could never imagine myself living too far away from my family and friends! Some of my favorite places that I've traveled to recently include Lucerne, Switzerland and Santa Maria, Italy! Some of my other favorite things are chocolate chip cookie dough, the colors purple and turquoise, giraffes, pink peonies, lemonade, and country music!
